I am a mother, chef, hunter, artist, and outdoor enthusiast. Through my passion for food, gardening, and the pursuit of wild game I have cultivated a greater understanding, and deeper appreciation for the natural world. I believe wholeheartedly in the power of influence through food, and our connection to the natural world.

Early on as a chef, I spent most of my time in the back of the house. For obvious reasons, this is where I’ve always found comfort. It is a bubble of space and familiarity that is comfortably chaotic. There really is nothing quite like it. Here exists a dire need for balance between creativity and control. The further into my chef career I progressed, the more I began to realize what a unique position a chef has. In many cases, we are the last person to seal the deal on a meal.
I grew up around hunters, but It wasn’t until I began hunting that I realized the extreme disconnect that often exists between what we eat and where it comes from. My hunting journey has gifted me a sense of clarity as well as responsibility to share the connection that exists between the meals we gather to eat and their origins. Every human has a deep connection to food. It is as important as the air we breathe and the water we drink.

Growing and harvesting my own food has been a process that has been empowering and humbling all at once. With each endeavor, I am reminded of how interwoven our lives are with the natural world, and the cyclical nature of life and death.
