I grew up as part of a family that loved to hunt, fish, and camp, but it wasn’t until was adulthood that I really understood why I loved the outdoors so much. Participating in those outdoor activities requires me to live in the moment, and calls me to be my best self. It is challenging and enriching. That’s what draws me out time and time again. I love learning new techniques and I’m always learning.

Since I was a teenager I always knew I wanted to be a writer, but I didn’t know what form that would take. In college I studied public relations and journalism. Now, I get to write about topics I find fascinating and that I’m passionate about. Being an outdoor writer helps me to merge my two passions: the written word and the natural world. In my writing, I focus mostly on people, places, and issues related to the outdoors, conservation, and the environment. I’m especially interested in writing about how people and nature intersect, diversity and inclusion in the outdoor space. My work has appeared in various publications and websites across the outdoor industry and beyond.
