“I’ve spent my entire life in the outdoors, from romping around the mountains of Northern Utah to the Adirondacks I’ve found value in spending time in the outdoors. I didn’t get into hunting until my early twenties, but since then I’ve been trying to use wild sourced foods to further my connection to our environment.
I like to say I’m a Grouse hunter that gets distracted by other forms of hunting, as they were my first introduction to wild game when a neighbor invited us over to watch him clean two dusky grouse he’d shot over his English setter. It didn’t fully connect then, (I was only 5 at the time), but years later when I was ready I found the Ruffed Grouse woods waiting. Since then Grouse have been a central part of both how I look at the environment but also how I spend my time advocating for it.

When I’m not trudging through thorns and aspen thickets looking for Grouse I’m either pursuing other small game or Deer to keep my freezer comfortably full with options to experiment with in the kitchen.
I may make my way back out West, even if it’s just to pursue Elk or Mule Deer, but there’s still so much to discover and fight for in my neck of the woods. “
